Each country is represented by one or two teams, each of them consisting of up to four contestants; the contestants have to be high school students, or younger, in the year 2009/10.

In the contest problems, no previous knowledge is required, neither in linguistics, nor of any foreign language.
The language in which the problems are posed is subject of choice for each participant, though unless you indicate otherwise we shall assume that you wish to have them in your native language.
